Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts Techniques : Formulas for Kickboxing in Martial Arts Training

On behalf of Expert Village I’m Sifu Dwight
Woods of Unified Martial Art Academy in Miami, Florida and today we are going to be talking
about beginners jeet kune do. So the same thing that we do in terms of formula for punching
combinations we can do this for kick boxing combinations. So again we have 4 punches,
we have 4 basic kicks. If we use the formula we can start this way. Remember we talked
about entry follow up and finish so the 4 hit combination I can go punch, punch, punch,
kick. I can go punch, punch, kick, kick I can go kick, punch, punch, punch. Or I can
go kick, punch, punch, kick and what you are looking at here is entry follow up finish,
entry, follow up, finish, entry, follow up, finish, entry, follow up, finish and if you
understand how to work formula then you can come up with infinite variety techniques.
On behalf of Expert Village thank you for watching.

  1. Very good Sifu your videos are real informitave and helps a lot with my technique and training. And its good to see some one keeping it real with the first Mixed Martial Artist in america. Thanks Raheem out here in Seattle

  2. Dude…that guy is a pro…and you're shit…i think ill stick with him rather than someone who thinks he knows something like you

  3. Doesn't JKD just take the necessities from every martial art and apply it to one form…or should I say no form? And wouldn't it be wrong to say that it isn't JKD since JKD is has a little of every martial art?

I'm pretty sure Bruce Lee said something like the highest form of martial art is no form, but it's been so long since I've read those first couple of pages in Tao of Jeet Kun Do, I could be wrong…

  4. I love this way of thinking!!

Thing is though, I don't think our ego must die to falsify anything, questioning everything can do the trick (like Descartes' "Meditation") and humility doesn't come from denying everything, take Descartes for instance, he denied EVERYTHING and from there found the only absolute truth, "I think therefore I am." Which made him famous, not in any sense humiliated.

Honestly, you're second to last sentence doesn't make any sense. How can man create an anti-creation?

  5. Oh yea, and Bruce Lee received a degree in Philosophy. I would think being a philosopher Lee would question the state of martial arts and find ways of improvement. To him, his philosophy, was to disregard style. I say it is his because no other person wrote it down and publicized his/her findings of this kind martial art, style, way of thinking (whatever you want to call it).

e.g Newton and Liebniz discovered calculus around the same time, but credit goes to Newton because he published first.

  6. jeetkunejimi you sure know alot don't you? Maybe you should post some videos because obviously everything here is wrong isn't it?

Empty your cup my friend. How can you possibly be able to learn anything if your cup is always full?

Think for a second that maybe there is more to the world than just what you know.

To say that this won't help students learn combo's is ignorant. How would you know? Are you his student? Have you tried this?

    Empty your cup my friend…

  7. he better not ever fight me cuz i'll always know what hes going to do lol hahah he only had 4 combos lol

  8. maybe it aint infinite but still more than enough to whoop ur ass and all these other ppl talkin shit lol 🙂

  9. god doesnt exsist, so your telling me, god made adam then made eve out of one of adams ribs so that is why men have one less rib, but there is quite a flaw in that, how can a woman be made into more than she was made out of?

  10. how many diferent types of kicks are there? And how many different types of punch. Ideally you CAN have an infinite 4 technique combination if each of the technique is infinite.. actually this is infinity times 4!! LOL

  11. Forget the haters, I thought this vid was pretty cool. Martial Art is also an art and developing the mind is just as important.

  12. @sweetasugar102 In a broad sense you are correct. From what I've read from his notes, Bruce seems to gravitate towards the ultimate destruction of your opponent. Eye poking, groin attacking / throat attacking and hair pulling are not allowed in major MMA outlets as far as I know. Bruce stresses it so much throughout his notes that he actually developed combinations involving such attacks.
