Kickboxing Fitness: Jump Rope Exercises : Kickboxing Fitness: Jump Rope Twisting Hop


Hello. I’m Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater
Kung Fu Center. This is kick boxing, we’re going to begin with a jump roping skill called
twisting hop. The twisting hop is the same as intermediate to advance technique, so to
begin this, we’re going to start with our feet normal distance and we perform the basic
hop. From the basic hop, we go to the twist. Okay, so this is using your lower body, using
your core and waist. I’ll demonstrate it at full speed for you. So going again, we go one…two…three. Now
you want to make sure that as you’re jumping that you’re landing softly on the balls of
your feet, impacting here and here, not allowing your heels to hit the floor and you want to
stay nice and light and get a good twist in your waist. This is how we perform twisting
hop kick boxing.
