MMA Class: What’s It Like?

Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, has been exploding
in popularity not only as a sport, but also as a workout regimen. You don’t have to know the names Conor McGregor
or Ronda Rowsey to train like them. Anyone is welcome to try an MMA class. But most people who get into it tend to agree:
MMA is more effective as a lifestyle than a fitness regimen you can drop in and out
of. The discipline affects not only how you train,
but also how you eat, sleep, rest, and even think. Surviving a bout in the Octogan requires as
much mental toughness as it does physical strength. And an MMA class is no different. It’s fast-paced, requiring athleticism,
endurance, strength, and grit. Classes are usually helmed by people who actually
compete in the amateur or professional circuit. The cardio workout is second to none. And sessions tend to fly by. After all, it’s hard to feel bored when
you’re learning to combine punches, strikes, grapples, and takedowns from multiple disciplines,
including karate, muay thai, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and kickboxing.
